The Museum's hands-on, instructive Discovery Carts offer educational fun for the entire family. For groups interested in scheduling a custom Discovery Cart, reserve online.
Bridging the Gap
During this interactive demonstration, participants learn about basic forces that inpact structures, the five different types of bridges and their advantages and disadvantages, and how bridges are applied in real world situations.
Most appropriate for ages 5 and up.
Bridging the Gap Discovery Cart is offered on the 1st and 3rd Sunday and the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, pending docent availability. Discovery Carts are also available as a custom tour, see the Custom Tour page for more information.
Arches and Trusses: The Tension Builds
Discover how building forces, materials, and structures affect strength and longevity. Participants test different building materials and work together to build an arch.
Most appropriate for ages 5 and up.

The Three Little Pigs Build a House
Hear the story of the Three Little Pigs and learn about the basic parts of a house and some of the materials that can be used to build. Currently only available as a custom tour, see the Custom Tour page for more information.
